6TH ANNUAL DELTA GROOVE ALL-STAR BLUES REVUE
Memorial Day weekend 2010 heralded the arrival of the eagerly anticipated annual event, the Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue, to the 21st Annual Simi Valley Cajun Creole Music Festival. The highly celebrated and critically acclaimed blues record label celebrated its 5th year anniversary in style, electrifying festival patrons with top tier acts from its notably distinguished roster. In 2011, the festival will be rechristened as the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival and big plans are underway to expand on the success of the recently added blues stage courtesy of Delta Groove Music. Two days of world class blues entertainment will be scheduled. The Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue will incorporate prominent internationally renowned blues and roots music acts. Mark you r calendars for Memorial Day weekend - Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th, 2011 - for what promises to be one of the biggest and best years yet!

BUCKWHEAT ZYDECO
2010 Grammy winner for Best Cajun and Zydeco album for "Lay Your Burden Down". Buckwheat Zydeco was formed in 1979 by Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural, Jr. and since that time has established the group as one of the premier Zydeco music performers in the world. They have performed for presidential inaugurations, with the Boston Pops and even a 12-night stand at London's Royal Albert Hall where they shared the stage with Eric Clapton. Buckwheat Zydeco has also performed and/or recorded with Keith Richards, Robert Plant, Willie Nelson, Mavis Staples, David Hidalgo, Dwight Yoakam, Paul Simon and Ry Cooder. Their music has been featured on a dozen major motion pictures and they won a TV Emmy for their music in "Pistol Pete: The Life And Times Of Pete Maravich." |

ANDRE THIERRY & ZYDECO MAGIC
Although born and raised in California, Andre comes from a long line of Zydeco performers with French Creole heritage. Andre grew up experiencing the French Creole (La-La) dances his grandparents held at their church parish. The "King of Zydeco," the late great Clifton Chenier declared Andre a future accordion player when he was only three. By age twelve Andre formed his own band, "Zydeco Magic." Today Andre is a virtuoso on all the accordion types, single row, double row, triple row and piano key. He is a gifted composer and song-writer and his music and CDs feature many of his original tunes. In 2008 the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame awarded Andre their "Best Zydeco Group" award. Andre Thierry is a dancers dream as his music blends traditional Zydeco with hip-hop, blues, jazz and rock. |

Jimmy Pookie Seralle, commonly know as Lil Pookie to the Zydeco world, was born into a talented musical family. His musical journey began in the heart of Opelousas, Louisiana better known as the Zydeco Capitol of the world. At age twelve he won the first accordion contest at the popular "Zydeco Extravaganza." After playing through Louisiana then Texas, he performed internationally before moving to the west coast. In his newest album he is featured on vocals, accordion, keyboards, bass guitar, drums and tub board. |

BAYOU BROTHERS
The Bayou Brothers started in 1995 and combine their love for both Cajun and Zydeco music to create a sound straight out of Louisiana's dance clubs, bayou festivals and backyard crawfish boils. They have been playing their music at festivals and concerts venues all over the southwest and are well known for their rowdy shows, bluesy Zydeco accordion grooves and up tempo Cajun romps. Charles Burton's masterful guitar playing and Roger Daschlé's funky bass lines drive the band and fans "Zydeco dance crazy"! Adding to the Bayou Brothers' sound is sax and percussion player, Thom Podgoretsk, "making that horn section visually work in the groove" and the "can't keep your feet still" rubboard grooves and rhythms of Judy Seid. |
